Custom solutions

Based on the needs of our clients, we provide custom tailored solutions — from medium voltage and parallel systems to remote monitoring and special canopies.

Medium voltage

Medium voltage generators

Medium (MV) or high voltage (HV) power generation is typically used where the power rating pushes the current at low voltage (LV) beyond practical limits. In practice this happens when the system capacity exceeds about 4000 amps, or when power must be distributed to points at a significant distance from the generator set.

A single generator rated above 2.5 MVA, or paralleled generators above 2 MVA, are typical candidates for MV applications. MV alternators are neither economical nor practical below roughly 1000 kW; at lower levels a low-voltage machine with a step-up transformer is usually the better choice when designing an MV or HV installation.

When a medium-voltage alternator is used:

  • Conduction losses and voltage drop are reduced.
  • The productivity of the distribution system increases.
  • Installation and maintenance costs are reduced.
  • There is no need for bulky cabling, so the installation stays neat and safety is higher.

At AlRyada Generators such technical infrastructure and engineering projects are taken seriously: after detailed analysis and evaluation, the project planning phase starts.

Parallel operation

Parallel operation

When the electrical load is greater than the output of a single generator, several generators can work together as one — known as synchronized or parallel operation — to meet the load.

The advantages of using several lower-power sets:

  1. Low operating cost
  2. Low initial setup cost
  3. Low maintenance cost
  4. Longer system life
  5. Flexible use
  6. Higher safety
  7. Easy to find spare parts
  8. Faster production and delivery time

Remote radiator

Remote radiator generators

ISO 8528, the standard that defines operation requirements for generating sets, requires the declared power on the label to be supplied continuously at an ambient temperature of 25 °C. Although the generator radiator is specified for 40 °C, alternator copper losses and the heat (about 30%) radiated by the engine and exhaust pipes push the temperature above ambient, which causes a drop in power.

To prevent this power drop, the radiator system is moved away from the generator and connected directly to the ambient air intake. A radiator designed for 40 °C then works at that temperature without any power drop.

Remote monitoring

Remote monitoring

A remote monitoring and control system lets you read all operating parameters and alarm information of your generating sets, with no limit on distance. Control devices communicate with the outside world over the Modbus protocol through RS485 and Ethernet ports, using SCADA or embedded SCADA systems.

  • SCADA: software configured to your needs that runs on a desktop computer. It connects to the generator controller directly through the Ethernet port or an RS485 line of up to 1250 m, and can send an SMS or email when a failure occurs.
  • Embedded SCADA: runs on a microprocessor device without a computer, and allows more than one user to connect at the same time through a static IP.

In case of an alarm, the system notifies the preset phone numbers by SMS or sends emails to the relevant addresses.

Special canopy

Special canopy

A special canopy is offered when the dimensions of the canopy need to be reduced, when special types of containers are preferred depending on the environment or operating conditions, or when the room dimensions are not suitable for a standard canopy.

Every canopy is built with a special acoustic design and sound attenuation measures at the air suction and discharge points, carried out by our specialised engineers.
